Project Summaries for Volatile Organic Compound Regulated Facilities
Client: Vinyl Flooring Manufacturer – Emission Source: Thermal Oxidizer
An emission compliance demonstration was conducted for a 100,000 CFM regenerative thermal oxidizer in determination of VOC destruction efficiency and outlet emissions of carbon monoxide. EPA Reference Methods 10 and 25A were utilized for this purpose. Additional sampling was also performed at this time to verify vendor emission guarantee requirements.
Client: Adhesive Manufacturer – Emission Source: Thermal Oxidizer
AirNova, Inc. conducted a test program to determine the destruction and removal efficiency (DRE) of a thermal oxidizer for parameters such as heptane, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylene and total hydrocarbons, as well as the emission rates of carbon monoxide and particulate matter. The test program was conducted at several line speeds and thermal oxidizer operating temperatures.
Client: Vinyl Flooring Manufacturer – Emission Source: Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers
Emission compliance test programs were conducted for several regenerative thermal oxidizers utilized in the control of VOC emission at a vinyl floor manufacturing facility. The VOC destruction efficiency and carbon monoxide emissions were determined utilizing EPA Reference Methods 10 and 25A. Continuous emission monitor certifications were also conducted for units associated with each oxidizer.
Client: Flexographic Printer – Emission Source: Catalytic Oxidizer
AirNova, Inc. prepared a permit application for a catalytic thermal oxidizer which served as the pollution control device for three (3) flexographic printing presses and their associated dryers.
Client: Automobile Assembly Plant – Emission Source: Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers
AirNova, Inc. conducted “real-time” evaluation tests for volatile organic compound (VOC) destruction and removal efficiency on five (5) regenerative thermal oxidizers at an auto assembly facility in Michigan and eight (8) regenerative thermal oxidizers at a truck assembly plant in Ohio.
Client: Specialty Coatings Manufacturer – Emission Source: Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer
AirNova Inc. conducted volatile organic compound (VOC) destruction and removal efficiency (DRE) tests on a regenerative thermal oxidizer. The DRE’s were measured simultaneously utilizing EPA Methods 25 and 25A.
Client: Flexographic Printer – Emission Source: Catalytic Oxidizer
An emission compliance demonstration was conducted for a flexographic printing facility utilizing a catalytic oxidizer for volatile organic compound (VOC) control. Total gaseous non-methane hydrocarbon emissions were determined at the oxidizer inlet and outlet utilizing EPA Method 25. Specific volatile organic compounds including methane, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone and toluene were determined at the oxidizer outlet utilizing EPA Method 18.
Client: Asphalt Cement Manufacturer – Emission Source: Rotary Dryer and Process Equipment
AirNova, Inc. prepared and submitted a Title V operating permit for the facility which included a continuous dryer utilized in asphalt cement production, storage silos, asphalt and fuel storage vessels. An analysis of fugitive emissions from material stockpiles within the facility boundaries was also conducted.
